Brazilian Lemonade Recipe

4.6 from 71 reviews

Brazilian Lemonade is a refreshing and creamy citrus drink made with whole lime wedges blended with cold water, sugar, and sweetened condensed milk. Despite its name, it uses limes instead of lemons, creating a uniquely tangy and sweet beverage perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 6 cups cold water
  • 5 limes, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or more to taste)
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Blend Lime Mixture: Into a blender, add the cold water, lime wedges (whole with skin), and granulated sugar. Blend until the mixture is smooth and the lime wedges are thoroughly blended.
  2. Strain Mixture: Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and pour the blender contents into the strainer. Catch the liquid in the bowl below while discarding the lime pulp, zest, and skin left in the strainer.
  3. Prepare Blender: Rinse out the blender to remove any residue. Pour the strained lime-water mixture back into the blender.
  4. Add Condensed Milk: Add the sweetened condensed milk to the strained lime mixture in the blender.
  5. Blend Again: Blend the mixture again until smooth and frothy.
  6. Serve: Fill glasses with ice and pour the Brazilian lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh lime slices if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use filtered or purified water for best taste.
  • Do not juice the limes before blending; blend the entire wedges and strain out solids afterward.
  • Adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk to your preferred level of sweetness and creaminess.
  • The drink is best served immediately for optimal freshness.
