Pie Bites
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
- 2 (8 oz) tubes crescent roll dough
Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a standard muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and gently press each piece into the muffin tin cups, positioning the widest part of the dough at the bottom to form a cup shape.
- Add Filling: Spoon approximately 3 to 4 heaping tablespoons of cherry pie filling into each dough-lined muffin cup, allowing for some overflow during baking for a juicy bite.
- Fold Dough: Carefully fold the dough corners over the filling to enclose it as much as possible while leaving some of the filling exposed for a rustic look.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin into the preheated oven and bake for 13-14 minutes or until the crescent roll dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Make the Glaze: While the pie bites are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk in a small bowl until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach your desired drizzle consistency.
- Glaze the Bites: Remove the warm cherry pie bites from the oven and drizzle the prepared glaze over them using a spoon. Allow to set slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
Notes
- You can substitute cherry pie filling with other fruit pie fillings like blueberry or apple for variety.
- For a thicker glaze, use less milk; for a thinner glaze, add milk gradually.
- Ensure the crescent dough is sealed well around the filling to reduce leaking during baking.
- Allow the bites to cool slightly before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting off completely.
- Serving warm enhances the flavor, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated gently.
