Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger or 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp dried chamomile or dried peppermint tea (or your favorite calming herbal blend)
  • Optional: pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)

Instructions

  1. Warm the honey: In a small saucepan, gently warm 1/2 cup honey over low heat until it becomes liquid and easy to stir, then remove the pan from heat to prevent overheating and preserve honey’s beneficial properties.
  2. Mix spices and lemon: Add 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger), 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric, and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the warmed honey. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients into a smooth mixture.
  3. Prepare the molds: Sprinkle a pinch of dried chamomile or dried peppermint tea into each cavity of a silicone mold or an ice cube tray, ensuring an even distribution of herbs in every cavity.
  4. Fill the molds: Pour the honey and spice mixture evenly over the dried herbs in each mold cavity. Optionally, add a pinch of black pepper to each for enhanced turmeric absorption and health benefits.
  5. Set the tea bombs: Allow the filled molds to cool completely at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator to speed up the solidification process until the mixture is fully hardened.
  6. Remove and store: Once solid, carefully pop the tea bombs out of the silicone mold or tray and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  7. Use your tea bomb: To enjoy, place one tea bomb in a mug and pour hot water over it. Stir continuously until the tea bomb fully dissolves, releasing the comforting flavors and warming spices for a delightful, soothing drink.
