Perfect for making a homemade copycat of the famous Buster Bar, this no-bake pie is easy to prepare, requires minimal ingredients, and freezes to a delightful ice cream pie perfect for summer or any time you want a decadent frozen dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Cookie Crust

  • 2 ¼ cups Oreo cookie crumbs
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted

Ice Cream Pie

  • 1 cup fudge sauce
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1 ½ cups peanuts, lightly salted
  • 7.5 ounces Magic Topping (Magic Shell chocolate sauce)

Instructions

  1. Soften Ice Cream: Take the vanilla ice cream out of the freezer and let it soften at room temperature so it’s easy to spread.
  2. Prepare Crust: In a bowl, mix Oreo cookie crumbs with the melted butter until well combined. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a springform pan that has been lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to set the crust.
  3. Layer Ice Cream and Fudge: Spread half of the softened ice cream evenly over the chilled Oreo crust, smoothing it flat with a spatula. Pour the fudge sauce over the ice cream layer and spread it out gently into an even layer.
  4. Add Peanuts: Sprinkle half of the lightly salted peanuts evenly over the fudge layer to add a crunchy texture.
  5. Top with Remaining Ice Cream and Peanuts: Scoop the remaining softened ice cream on top and press it flat to create the next layer. Sprinkle the remaining peanuts evenly over the top.
  6. Drizzle Magic Topping: Drizzle the Magic Shell chocolate sauce evenly over the top of the ice cream and peanuts.
  7. Freeze: Place the assembled pie in the freezer and let it freeze for at least 3 hours or until firm.
  8. Serve: Once firm, slice and serve your homemade Dairy Queen Buster Bar Pie to enjoy a delicious frozen treat.

Notes

  • Make sure the ice cream is softened but not melted for easier spreading.
  • You can substitute salted peanuts with any nuts of your choice or omit for allergies.
  • Use a springform pan for easy removal of the pie.
  • If Magic Topping (Magic Shell) is unavailable, use any chocolate hardening sauce.
  • This dessert requires freezing, so plan ahead for at least 3 hours of freezing time.
  • For extra crunch, consider adding chopped peanuts to the Oreo crust as well.
