Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layer

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (237 grams)
  • 150 ml sweetened condensed milk (about half a 14 oz/300 ml can or 190 grams)

Peanut Butter Layer

  • 1 ½ cups peanut butter chips (237 grams)
  • 150 ml sweetened condensed milk (remaining half of the 14 oz/300 ml can)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a 15×10″ baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal of the pinwheels.
  2. Make Chocolate Fudge Layer: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips with half the sweetened condensed milk (150 ml). Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir. If not completely smooth, microwave another 15 seconds and stir until thick and fudge-like. Spread this mixture evenly on the prepared pan about 1 cm thick. Use your hands or a spatula to smooth it out, then refrigerate while you prepare the peanut butter layer.
  3. Make Peanut Butter Fudge Layer: In another medium microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter chips with the remaining half of the sweetened condensed milk (150 ml). Microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir, and if needed, microwave an additional 15 seconds until smooth and fudge-like. Drop spoonfuls on top of the chocolate layer and gently spread with a spatula. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes or until the layer is firm but still pliable for rolling.
  4. Roll the Pinwheels: Once the layers are chilled enough to roll without cracking, start at the long edge and carefully roll up the layered fudge, leaving the parchment paper behind. Wrap the rolled log tightly in plastic wrap and chill for 2-4 hours to set completely.
  5. Slice and Store: After chilling, slice the roll into pinwheels of desired thickness. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Measure the sweetened condensed milk accurately using a liquid measuring cup or scale to ensure proper texture.
  • If the peanut butter fudge layer is too hard to roll, refrigerate for an additional 20 minutes, or place in the freezer in 5-minute increments to soften slightly.
  • You can customize the pinwheels by using different flavored chips like white chocolate or adding chopped nuts.
  • Handle the fudge with clean dry hands or use a spatula to spread to keep the layers neat.
  • Wrap tightly in plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn if freezing.
